Open Question: Headlight out, do cops contact you any further?

Ok so last night I was driving and got pulled over by a cop for my left head light being out, she gave me this paper and said I have 30 days to fix it, well the car is in my dads name, and I'm 18, and the thing is my parents don't want me driving out late just because there's a trust factor between us that I need to improve, but anyway I can get it fixed and my buddies a mechanic so he can sign that paper for me saying hes certified and it has been fixed, once I mail the notice back, do they contact me back? and does it show up on my dads insurance or anything like that because basically I don't want them to know I was driving late at night and got pulled over...... read more
